lately they have been investigating
whether the wife of a famous writer
had syphilis or not.
Drew no firm conclusion,
only innuendos, which is a pity
if not very scholarly.
Wouldn’t it be erudite, when at
a dinner party, to say: ”
Did you know that Henrietta died of VD? ”
