Ted Sheridan - Life Of The Married Living Dead

2014-10-28 3

Caged by a love we could have prevented
We imprisoned ourselves with each others limitations
Our love that had been put in motion
By both a place and time
When neither the two were right
The stars and planets were not aligned
But that didn't matter
At least to us
We became helpless in our desires
Desires that would tie us together forever
We were determined to make it work
Determined not to fail at love this time
After all
We both knew the many reasons
Love had not been kind
We had traveled this road before
We had hit all the bumps
Fell in all the holes
It was very simple
All we had to do was be nice to each other
Concede to one another's whims
Give in to the feelings of Love
Never question anything and
Ask nothing of it
Only that it never leave or disappear
We would always be together
It was how it had to be
And it is how it is
To this very day
We are still imprisoned by each other's limitations
We complete each day counting
The days like trophies
Marking another one on the wall
We never noticed that love had gone
We are so determined to make it work this time
We just keep going on and on and on..........
And in our ignorance
We say we are happy
That's funny
Happy about what
That we're not dead
