STORY: Britain's Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, hosted an afternoon tea on Monday (October 27) for members of the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association at Clarence House.
The event marked the first of three engagements for the Association's bi-annual reunion in London.
Australia was represented by its four surviving Victoria Cross recipients.
The Victoria Cross was instituted by Queen Victoria in 1856 and is awarded to those serving in British and Commonwealth Forces who have shown most conspicuous bravery.
Since then, only 100 Australians have been awarded the Victoria Cross.
On Tuesday (October 28) the Queen will host a reception at Buckingham Palace while on Wednesday (October 29) Prince Harry will attend the Service of Remembrance that honors past holders of the two awards.
