Consumer Reports has named the cars they feel are the most and least reliable.

If you’re in the market for a new car and feel more confusion than passion about your options, rest easy.

Consumer Reports has named the car models and makes they feel are the most and least reliable.

Said a spokesperson for the publication, “We collect data on over a million vehicles. So, we can tell you which ones are most and least likely to give you trouble. And we have data on 28 brands as well.”

Topping the dependability list for specific cars was the new Scion xB.

Among makers at large, Lexus, Toyota, and Mazda claimed the highest honors.

It was generally a good year for Japanese autos, as Honda also landed in the top 5.

The bottom 5 was dominated by Chrysler, with Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram all being assigned the lowest spots in the brand category.

In fact, the Fiat 500 was named the least reliable car in the Consumer Reports survey.

The total number of automobile models reviewed was 248.

There was some good news for American offerings.

Lincoln jumped 12 spots from last year’s ranking and Buick was acknowledged as being one of the 10 top brands.
