CBC, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation, announced its popular radio personality Jian Ghomeshi will no longer be included in their line-up.
The Canadian Broadcast Corporation, or CBC, announced its popular radio personality, Jian Ghomeshi, will no longer be included in their line-up.
His firing is reportedly connected to matters surrounding his sex life.
The issue was brought to the forefront following accusations that he committed non-consensual sexual violence towards several women.
The host has admitted to his proclivity towards behavior that is, in his words, “adventurous,” but says all of his partners have been willing participants.
Three of those women have anonymously reported his claims are untrue, and that the radio personality engaged in excessive and unwelcomed acts with them.
Those included being hit, choked, suffocated and verbally abused.
A fourth female, one of Ghomeshi’s former co-workers, alleged that he fondled her while expressing his desire to do something hate-charged and carnal.
The radio personality denies all wrongdoing, and said that he provided his employer with proof that all of his partners were consenting participants.
He also stated that shortly after he did so he was given the option to leave quietly, one he chose not to take.
In addition to providing his side of the story on social media, Ghomeshi has announced plans to file a 50 million-dollar lawsuit against CBC.
None of his accusers went to the police.
