South Africa's national soccer goalkeeper and captain, Senzo Meyiwa, has been shot dead by burglars during a break-in at this house -- belonging to his girlfriend.
He was hit by a single round in the chest Sunday night, as he confronted two intruders.
His murder has shocked the country. And people who knew him well, like South African national coach Shakes Mashaba, say they've lost a great man:

"Since we started with Senzo, this national team never had problems, because he would always be a leader. He's a guider to the players, and the players would listen to him."
Meyiwa's death comes just days after the "Bladerunner" -- Oscar Pistorius -- was jailed for five years for shooting his girlfriend... highlighting the country's issue of gun violence once again.
