Umberto Eco was once asked about The Da Vinci Code, as the book shares some concepts (if nothing else) with Eco's own work. His response was thus: "Dan Brown [the author] is a character from Foucault's Pendulum! I invented him. He shares my characters' fascinations—the world conspiracy of Rosicrucians, Masons, and Jesuits. The role of the Knights Templar. The hermetic secret. The principle that everything is connected. I suspect Dan Brown might not even exist."

Additional music is "For the Love of a Princess" from the Braveheart soundtrack as performed by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, "Ashitaka and San" from the Princess Mononoke Symphonic Suite, "Betrayal/Forgiveness" by Apocalyptica, and "Morning Star" by Johannes Linstead and Nicolas Gunn.
