Jimmy Mansongele is preparing for what could be the deadliest fight of his life.
He's one of the 56 volunteer doctors, biologists and other health professionals that the Democratic Republic of Congo is training to combat the Ebola virus.
He's among the 1,000 the country will deploy against the disease that has killed more than 4,500.
He and his colleagues will be seeking out those who may have Ebola, and burying those for whom help has come too late.
(SOUNDBITE) (French) RED CROSS WATER AND SANITATION CO-ORDINATOR, JIMMY MANSONGELE, SAYING:
"Whilst I see myself among the volunteers who can save people, it's actually what we can offer, the love for people close to us that you should offer, because you're going there. There are people who go and who get infected despite all the measures of protection, but they go because of the love they feel for people. It's a disease that starts to cross borders and if we don't act quickly, this disease can go everywhere."
