Alongside promoting their new film, it was a weekend spent honouring veterans for the cast and crew of new World War 2 movie Fury.
First stop was this former hospital for injured troops in Paris.
Pitt said he wanted to get across the sense of pain and hardship the soldiers encountered from the very start of the film, in which he plays the commander of a Sherman tank.

"Talking to the guys who have been there. They painted this picture of total and utter exhaustion. The days on end with no sleep, no food, cold and it was incumbent on us when the film starts that you feel that and you feel the psychological dent of the years of the all the trauma they witnessed."
Next on Sunday October 19th was London for the film's European premiere which closed the London Film Festival.
