(If they can't recommend any, it's a good chance they may not have furthered their hair knowledge.) Know that a good professional stylist will not have much time outside of doing hair so a pro usually needs to charge your for a consultation.
A consultation is meant to address your concerns and hair needs. Pay attention to see if they are patient and willing to truly help you and if they give you a hard time move on to someone else. A good hairstylist you can trust will save you time, money, and give you healthy hair in the long run.
