NBC medical correspondent Nancy Snyderman’s Ebola quarantine breach has gotten a maid fired.
The reporter and her crew were under a voluntary quarantine since returning from Liberia when one of their cameramen tested positive while there and was sent back to the US for treatment.
Nonetheless, she and some of her similarly restricted crewmembers took a drive to a New Jersey restaurant.
Snyderman waited in the car while another quarantined individual went inside to pick up some take-out food.
As news of the incident spread, many people in the area began to worry that those in the eatery at the time could have become infected and contagious.
Despite reports that a health investigation turned up no evidence of risk, a select few felt that taking extreme precautions was still necessary.
One of those measures involved the firing of a maid identified by TMZ as ‘Vilma’.
Upon learning that the maid is the sister of a chef who was working at the restaurant at the time, 2 homeowners decided to suspend her services.
They told the domestic worker not to show up for duty until details surrounding her perceived infection risk are clarified.
Snyderman continues to maintain that she is in no way responsible for the violation.
