In an effort to dispel rumors of pink slime and other controversial ingredients, McDonald's has recruited a former host of ‘Mythbusters’.

Grant Imahara will anchor a series of video segments in which he gets to the bottom of what is, in fact, in McDonald's menu offerings.

Over the years the fast food chain has faced countless accusations that their food is suspect, and some have questioned if the ingredients are even real.

The higher ups at McDonald's have grown tired of this, and are committed to setting the record straight.

Said the company’s vice president of communications, “In today’s 24/7 news cycle, people are looking for faster, more straightforward responses to their questions about our food.”

Thus, they’re doing away with their traditional, sometimes vague, responses and proving that what they’re serving is legit.

Imahara will be traveling to a number of restaurants and facilities to give customers an insiders’ view of where the products McDonald's uses come from and how they’re handled.

Among the first questions Imahara will tackle is whether or not the beef is real.

Spoiler alert: According to the supplier, Cargill, it is, and that means no eyes, lips, or pink slime.
