A Sudanese medical official in his fifties who was working for the UN in Liberia has died of Ebola in a hospital in Leipzig, Germany.
Another person has left hospital after five weeks treatment, while Frankfurt hospital is still treating a third. Ebola has so far killed more than 4,000 people, mostly in West Africa.
Meanwhile in Britain where the authorities say they are expecting to deal with a handful of cases at most, screening of passengers deemed “high risk” has begun at Heathrow airport, even if medical opinion is that arrivals screening has only limited impact.
