CDC: Infected nurse "clinically stable," others possibly at risk

CDC official says the Dallas nurse who contracted Ebola is "clinically stable" and warned that other healthcare workers may also be at risk on Monday (October 13).

"If this one individual was infected and we don't know how, within the isolation unit then it is possible other individuals could have been infected as well so we consider them to potentially be at risk and we are doing an in-depth review and investigation," Dr Thomas Frieden, Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Frieden also addressed earlier comments that the nurse contracted Ebola through a "breach in protocol."

"Some interpreted that as finding fault with the hospital or healthcare worker and I am sorry if that the impression given, that was certainly not my intention," Frieden said.
