There aren’t too many people who are immune to the charm of puppies. Recently a hunter rescued 20 pups that had been abandoned in a Canadian field.

Reportedly, all of the babies had been nestled closely together on a blanket.

The man who discovered the pups in the middle of nowhere while moose hunting remarked “As I walked around the truck I could see two little eyes looking at me and I could see it was puppies. So then all of them looked at me and I was shocked.”

He said ‘come on’ and all the puppies got up and walked towards him. The animals, aged between 3 and five weeks were taken to Battleford's Humane Society. At the time, they were covered in fleas, cold and dehydrated.

Shelter staffers shared the tiny pooches’ story on Facebook and soon after, donations from kind-hearted citizens poured in. Employees are now trying to nurse them back to full health so they can find their forever homes.

It’s uncertain why the puppies were left alone in the cold, but the shelter's coordinator Michelle Spark thinks they may have been used as bait for coyotes.
