One last issue with Beyond Atlantis I forgot to mention (I figured it went without saying): correlation does not equal causation.
Also, an interesting note: one oddity often used to "prove" the existence of Atlantis, Mu, or Lemuria is the "white Japanese," the Ainu. It turns out, however, that the Ainu are genetically related to their neighbors and not to Europeans. As such, I'd say the fact that an Asian population can spontaneously acquire supposedly European characteristics is proof that as a species we are all closely related.
