Islamic State (ISIS) forces continue to gain ground in their efforts to capture the Syrian Kurdish city of Kobani, near the Turkish border. The extremists control about a third of the city and continue advancing despite US aerial bombardments. Pentagon officials say the airstrikes have failed to detain the ISIS forces and they could soon gain control of the entire city. teleSUR
