A couple in Pennsylvania recently greeted their newborn baby boy, but unfortunately had to say goodbye only hours after the birth.

Jenna and Dan Haley learned during the pregnancy that their infant had a rare brain condition called anencephaly. Babies born with this condition are only expected to live for a few hours or days.

They went right to work creating and fulfilling a bucket list, so they could do things as a family while the child was still in the womb.

Shane Michael Haley was born at 2:25 a.m. and passed away at 6:15 in the morning.

A note on the Prayers for Shane Facebook page reads “Shane spent his entire life in the arms of people that loved him unconditionally and I don't think you could ask for a more beautiful life then that .. he is home now with the Lord and will forever be our little miracle!”

The couple also pointed out they felt grateful for the short time they were able to cradle and enjoy their child. The Haleys gained a steady following on Facebook while documenting their adventures during the pregnancy.

Beaches, zoos, the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 memorial in New York City are just a few places they visited together.
