One week after, the first Ebola patient in the U.S., Thomas Eric Duncan, was diagnosed in the United States, CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden said during a news conference that the fight against Ebola is not a fight against people, but a virus.

"We can never forget that the enemy here is a virus. The enemy is Ebola, not people, not countries, not communities." he said.

He went say that the patient being treated for Ebola in a Dallas hospital remains in critical condition, and is receiving kidney dialysis.

Dr. Frieden added that "We'll look at all of the options. We're not, today, providing the steps that we plan to take, but I can assure you that we will be taking additional steps."
