Media Review - UK press and the Scottish referendum

2014-10-07 5

Today's program, hosted by Richard Seymour takes a took at and analyzes the role and bias of the British press in its coverage of the recent Scottish independence referendum. Virtually the entire press -with the exception of the Scottish Herald- weighed in against the referendum. From the right-wing Daily Mail to the left-of-center Guardian, including public media such as the BBC as well as the business press, all were solidly in the Unionist camp. Seymour asks why this was the case and proceeds to give some elements of analysis to better understand the phenomenon. teleSUR
