In Poland, however, officers recently had to go after a pair of horses that weren’t too keen on stopping.

The owner of the animals had reportedly left them alongside the road for a short period of time while getting cigarettes. They took off soon after and ran on the streets of Bielsko-Biala with the carriage attached.

A law enforcement spokesperson remarked “We received calls saying that a pair of horses were causing havoc on the roads. We dispatched a patrol car and a police van to deal with them, but it soon became apparent that stopping them was easier said than done."

Cops chased the horses for 3 long minutes and watched as the animals nearly hit oncoming vehicles. The horses finally came to a stop after running into a park. Once they realized grass was under their hooves, the animals began grazing.

A responding officer grabbed hold of one of the reins to ensure they didn’t take off. Now, a prize has been offered by regional police to anyone who comes up with an idea to prevent ‘horse joy riders’ from running amok in the future.
