18-year-olds Eric Nichols and Tanner Price were celebrating their first day back in high school by practicing flying a Cessna 172 single engine plane from Tulsa’s Riverside Airport to Tulsa International Airport. Everything was going smoothly until their plane lost power while they were just past the runway, and 100 feet in the air. Eric, who had received his pilot’s license just five days before, made an emergency landing on a country road just south of the airport. Talk about a close call!
