International Day of Peace First Children's Embassy in the World Megjashi organized March for Peace
Come to a March for Peace- especially if you don't feel like going, or if you don't like the name, or if you do not believe that you can reach peace by merely walking. Come even if you do like the idea. This is not a march for peace and it is a March for Peace. This is a sign that we are hurt by injustice, violence in the school and family, lack of solidarity, corruption and clientelism. We are hurt by the suffering in Gaza and the wars in Ukraine and Syria. We are hurt by the ruthless cutting of the forests in Amazon, we are hurt by "development" that generates climate change and floods.
We walk because we do not want to sit. We walk because we are more together that way. We walk because we want to rejoice each other. We are not calling you to whining and hopelessness, we are calling you to join millions of people with whom together we will mark our need for peace. And peace for us is a happy school in which children are raised to be responsible and independent citizens instead of obedient consumers, peace for us is ethnic diversity like a treasure, peace is when we don't give charity to the poor but work towards eradicating poverty. Free media is peace for us, responsible politicians who are controlled by the citizens, more women in relevant positions, all of that is peace for us.
If you do not agree with us, come nevertheless. Peace is not uniformity of thought, it is rather a constant dialogue, and struggle, and conflict- but with respect and without violence.
Come together to rejoice and to say goodbye to the empty word "peace" and welcome to cooperation and love.
