As a society, we are used to seeing only bearded men. However, there's a woman in Kazakhstan who says her beard is the key to her happy and successful marriage.
The 65-year-old has quite a lot of facial hair but that doesn’t seem to affect her personal relationships in the least bit. She’s been married for 42 long years.
The couple has a son, daughter and six grandkids. Back when the pair wed, her facial hair was just starting to grow. Not only did her husband not care about the beard, but he was always proud to show off his woman.
The bearded woman remarked “When I was young, I thought about shaving the beard off, but religious people told me not to. Allah gave it, and he will take it back. People in the village call me 'big bearded grandmother'”.
Beards seem to be a signature in her family. The woman’s sisters, along with her mother and grandmother also had noticeable hair growth on their faces.
Reportedly her relatives only had six inch long beards, while she is proud hers grew to 8 inches. The bearded woman’s daughter does not yet have a beard, but she might in the future as family history shows the feminine facial hairs usually start sprouting up at age 25.
