A man in Oklahoma has been accused of beheading a woman in what is being described as a workplace attack at a food processing facility.
Police were dispatched to Vaughan Foods in Moore at approximately 4:30 P.M. on Thursday.
The details regarding exactly what occurred are still under review, but police say the suspect, 30-year-old Alton Nolen, entered the facility and stabbed two women inside, killing one.
Horrifically, Nolen is accused of beheading one of the victims, identified as 54-year-old Colleen Hufford. Nolen was reportedly in the midst of stabbing the second woman when the company’s Chief Operating Officer, who is apparently also a reserve sheriff’s deputy, shot him.
Police say the women had nothing to do with the dispute, but reportedly Nolen had recently been fired.
Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis also shared the following:
Both Nolen and the second victim were taken to the hospital. They are said to be in critical condition.
Nolen has a previous criminal record. In the past, he faced charges for assault and battery on a police officer, possession of a controlled substance and escape from detention.
