2014-09-26 3

In-depth reports and analysis from our extensive network of correspondents throughout the region on the most important developments in Latin America. Today's program centers on youth in Mexico, for whom the outlook is bleak with few opportunities in the era of neoliberalism. Indeed, 85% of the 14 million working youth earn below US$400 monthly, which is considered the poverty level. Employment opportunities are largely in the informal sector without the benefits contained in the country's labor legislation. Meanwhile, higher education is increasingly aimed at acquiring technological skills for the upscale market. Clayton Conn reports from Mexico City. teleSUR
