Jason Orange quits Take That

Take That, one of Britain's most successful pop bands, is now a three-piece after founding member Jason Orange announced he had quit.

Orange released a statement on the band's official website on Wednesday (September 24) saying he didn't want to commit to recording and promoting a new album.

He added that there had been no arguments with his bandmates and that he was proud of their achievements together.

Take That's remaining members, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, also posted a statement, saying Orange's departure would be "a huge loss".

The trio say they'll continue to make music.

Take That was formed in 1990 with Orange, Barlow, Owen, Donald and Robbie Williams.

The band split in 1996 after a string of number one hits in the UK.

They then reunited in 2005 and launched a popular comeback tour.
