Designer handbags are certainly not cheap. A Hermès Birkin bag that recently landed on the auction block sold for a jaw-dropping price of $185,000.

Of course, the bag is anything but plain. It’s called the Himalayan Nilo Crocodile Birkin and boasts quite a few features.

Among them are more than 240 diamonds with a combined weight of nearly 10 carats. The impressive purse has 18 carat white gold hardware.

Heritage Auctions is behind the sale of the handbag. Prior to the successful auction, the managing director of the firm’s New York Office, Kathleen Guzman remarked “Probably the most desirable handbag in the world…This is the only time that a bag of this calibre has appeared on the luxury re-sale market. This is a dream piece for the collection of true Hermès aficionados."

The identities of both the former and new owner of the bag remain unknown. Initially, experts thought this particular bag might beat a record for a Birkin sold at auction in 2011, but the sale fell a little short.

The current record holding Birkin garnered over $200,000 in 2011.
