Police officers often go above and beyond the call of duty. In one such instance, two Portland police officers dropped off a pizza, after a delivery driver was involved in a car accident.
Earlier this month, officers Michael Filbert and Royce Curtiss arrived at Steve Huckins’ house to deliver the pie. Huckins and his wife were confused when their first one didn’t arrive, so they placed another call to Pizza Hut and told the manager they never received their meal.
They were offered a replacement for half the price. As the family ate the second pizza, which was delivered personally by the manager, the two cops showed up at the couple’s home with the first one.
The real pizza delivery driver was hurt in the accident but is expected to make a full recovery.
