Japan has come through for us again, with yet another food combo that has us baffled. This time, it’s Watermelon Bagles. Which not only sounds like someone playing breakfast food free-association, but it’s also a menu item at a Japanese bagel chain called Bagel & Bagel.
Watermelon Bagels aren’t the only Bagel crime being committed at Bagel & Bagel. They also have flavors like Cocoa Marshmallow, Banana caramel, and Green Tea & White Chocolate. All excellent flavors in their own right. All flavors that don’t seem like they’d be elevated by being given the texture of chewy bread. The watermelon bagel (or suika bagel, because suika is Japanese for watermelon), is the newest innovation from Bagel & Bagel, and is only available in limited quantities.
If you want to know even more about this watermelon bagel, and further marvel at its very existence, read the review over at Rocket News 24: http://goo.gl/o0fs24
Would you try a watermelon bagel from Bagel & Bagel? How do you think the watermelon bagel ranks in terms of weird food stuff from Japan? How many times did Noah say “Bagel” in this report? Should we make a whole video where Noah just says “bagel,” over and over, Hodor-style? What other weird food news should we cover on the show?
