An group linked to the Islamic State organisation has claimed responsibility for kidnapping a French national who was hiking in Algeria on Sunday. The Frenchman has appeared in an online video, saying he has been seized by an 'IS' splinter group calling itself 'The Caliphate Soldiers'.
