Having extra cash spit out of an ATM is the dream of many. A number of ATM users in South London’s Tooting district recently got a nice surprise.
The equivalent of about 16 thousand dollars was given to customers who visited a special machine which was installed by online betting company Betfair.
The machine distributed cash to people without obtaining any information from their cards or requiring a pin number. The ATM, which is being called a ‘Super Rich Cash Machine’ is an innovative way to promote Betfair’s latest product called ‘Price Rush’.
Andy Holmes, who works as Betfair’s product manager remarked “The odds on getting more money than you expected at a cash machine are pretty slim but our Super Rich Cash Machines Price Rushed transactions, giving some users much more money than they requested..”
Only hours after the promotion kicked off, news of it started spreading online. Some of those who were lucky enough to land the spare cash, used social media to share their happiness.
The clever marketing campaign is garnering attention to Price Rush, which is said to be an odds-boosting feature on Betfair’s Sportsbook.
