Pro-Russian separatists, representatives from Kyiv and Moscow, and the EU security watchdog, the OSCE, met in the Belarus capital Minsk on Saturday for another round of talks on resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Former Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma representing Kyiv, said the two sides agreed to move artillery 15 kilometres away from the front line on both sides to create a buffer zone.
The regular breaches of the initial ceasefire earlier this month emphasise the need for further measures to end the conflict.
Cleaning up is underway in the rebel-held city of Donetsk in the east, which suffered heavy overnight shelling on Friday, killing one person and causing substantial damage.
