The concept of paying it forward is one that is so simple, yet it can warm the hearts of everyone it affects.

Staffers at a Chick-fil-A in Abilene, Texas were recently surprised when a customer placed an order for food and handed over $1,000 for it.

It happened at approximately 7 p.m. on Monday. The male, who identified himself only as John, gave the cashier 10 one hundred dollar bills and said he wanted to pay for the meals for everyone else in the drive-thru line.

His sweet gesture paid for a total of 88 patrons. All the customers who received free meals were in shock.

Reportedly, one woman cried at the good deed, because her day had been terrible. And that’s exactly what John aimed to do.

He told an employee that Mondays are rough and was hoping his idea would help brighten up the customers’ days. As a way of saying thanks to John, Chick-fil-A managers didn’t charge him for his own meal, which consisted of 8 chicken nuggets and a Dr. Pepper.
