On February 12th, the opposition in Venezuela led various violent protests known as "Guarimbas", which consist of blocking streets, burning buildings and forcing people to stay at home, in order to attempt to force President Nicolas Maduro to step down. 41 people died around the country during this coup attempt. teleSUR
