The Cuban Embassy in Quito held an event last Friday for the Cuban 5 as an act of international solidarity with the anti-terrorist fighters. Similar activities were held in 300 cities in 150 countries around the world. The Cuban 5 were arrested by the FBI in 1998 for conspiracy to commit espionage and other related charges, although their real "crime" was monitoring the activities of right-wing terrorist organizations operating out of Miami that target Cuba. teleSUR
