The staffer had picked up the creature and placed it in the cage. The man wasn’t able to turn his back and walk away though as the panda wrapped its arms around his leg.
The keeper tried to close the gate, but the panda’s firm grip left his leg in the way. It didn’t take long for another panda inside the cage to notice the gate was partially open.
That sneaky one crept over to where all the action was taking place and attempted to wiggle out of the enclosure, right underneath the employee’s leg. Somehow the man was able to get his leg out gently, despite the fact that he had not one, but two pandas working against him.
The Chengdu Research Base was founded in 1987. The goal of the facility is to protect the critically endangered giant panda species.
