The fight against Islamic State militants in Western Iraq is growing in strength with backing from the US military.
Iraq’s Defence Ministry released footage on Thursday which it claimed shows its troops expelling Islamic State militants out of an area in Anbar province in the west of the country.
A military spokesman said Iraqi soldiers had captured two fighters, one a Saudi national and the other from Tajikistan.
Meanwhile a shipment of arms to Kurdish forces from Britain arrived in Irbil on Thursday. The machine guns and ammunition are understood to have cost two million euros.
British Prime Minister David Cameron says he has not ruled out British involvement in any military strikes.
