The Christophe Josse Haute Couture Fall Winter 2013-14 is like a sartorial trip through the Far East. He infused his collection with deep silks in flowy cuts reminiscent of traditional Mongolian costumes, and a hint of Russia, apparent in floral embroideries on shawls. The daywear opted for billowing silhouettes and plenty of ruffle. The latter appeared on necklines, hemlines or round a cinch waist, spicing up otherwise pared down lines. Balloon sleeves and empire cuts accentuated the bohemian, airy comfort of the collection. As for the nightwear, Josse opted for more figure-revealing numbers, but always in a subtle, almost poetic way: a high waist discretely marked by a tone-on-tone belt, an occasional silk, or an asymmetrical gathering at the waist confirmed the designer's ability to create youthful yet fit-for-all femininity.
