Featured in the 2-minute spot is a real life young boy who, as the result of divorce and remarriage, has two dads and two moms.

One of his mothers shares that she never wants her son to feel like his home life is any different than other peoples.

Well, in reality it isn’t.

A recent report shows that 40 percent of adults have a step relative.

Research also revealed that one in three American marriages create a blended family.

Honey Maid said they made the commercial, which is part of their ‘This Is Wholesome’ campaign, to reflect today’s society.

It was also the company’s goal to show that because a family doesn’t fit a traditional mold that doesn’t mean it’s broken.

Said a spokesperson, "The composition of the American family has changed, and our product has changed, but we're still wholesome and so are America's families."
