Fastener zinc electroplating process. Parts are typically processed utilizing the following three “sub-processes”: Zinc Electroplate, Baking for Hydrogen relief, Chromating/Sealing. The primary characteristics achieved with the electroplating process are corrosion resistance, torque control, and appearance. The specific electroplating process requirements are based on industry specifications and the environment that the parts will be in use.
