Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the flood affected areas will be forcefully evacuated as public’s safety is responsibility of the government.
Visiting the flood affected areas of Jhang today (Tuesday), Shahbaz Sharif said that it is the biggest flood in Punjab after 1972. He visited Jhang and later took relief goods to Bhawana on a boat. He announced that government will rebuild all the houses that were destroyed or damaged by the flood.
The flood will reach Hear Tarimmu today. Atthara Hazari barrier will be broken in order to save the barrage. CM Shahbaz arrived at Head Tarimmu as well to inspect the relief works and safety measures. He was briefed about the safety measures taken for saving Head Tarrimu Barrage, relocation of flood victims to safer places and other relief activities.
After that, Chief Minister took the relief goods and food items to a village affected by flood in Tehsil Bhawana on a boat. Hundreds of villages have been flooded in Bhawana.
While talking to media before visiting the flood affected areas, Shahbaz Sharif said that it is the biggest flood in Punjab after 1972.
Measures have been taken for breaking the Atthara Hazari barrier. CM Punjab said that people will be forced to leave the flood affected areas as safety of the people is government’s responsibility.
