In what seems to appear as a move to curb the freedom of the press, Chennai city police has issued internal circular appointing officers to keep tab on the crime reporters. But the move did not go well with the Chennai Press Union which said that the police are trying to stop negative press by curbing the freedom of media. The union has written a latter to Press Council of India to look into the matter.
