A college-aged woman at a barbecue restaurant in China recently caught on fire. The female and a male companion had been sitting down when a waitress approached them.
A college-aged woman at a barbecue restaurant in China recently caught on fire. The female and a male companion had been sitting down when a waitress approached them.
The restaurant staffer dumped liquid alcohol over the grill which was on their table. Not long after she started pouring, a fireball broke out.
The bottle holding the alcohol was shot across the room and the waitress went running in the opposite direction. The male customer ran after the waitress while the female diner was left near the table.
Her entire body was on fire. She fell to the floor and immediately started kicking and flailing her arms in an effort to put out the flames.
A man took off his shirt and ran over to her to beat the flames out with his garment. The woman was rushed to the hospital a short time later. Her condition is listed as critical.
The waitress and man also received burns, but theirs were not nearly as bad as the woman’s injuries. During their lunch, the male had reportedly asked the waitress to add more fuel onto the grill as he thought it wasn’t hot enough.
The waitress was apparently unaware how dangerous it is to add alcohol to an already heated grill. Police have launched an investigation and say both the employee and restaurant owners could face charges for ‘failing to implement proper safety precautions’.
