The founder and leader of MQM Mr Altaf Hussain has said that people affected by devastating floods and torrential rains need the help and attention of the government and political parties. He added that the situation demands that all other issues are put aside in order to help the people affected by rains and floods.
He expressed these views while taking to Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi on telephone.
Mr Hussain said that torrential rains and floods had caused large-scale devastation and deaths in Azad Kashmir and Punjab. We are hearing news about more destruction and devastation. Victims of the natural disaster need our attention urgently.
Mr Hussain reiterated that the protesting parties in Islamabad should put off their protest demonstrations considering the destruction caused by torrential rains and floods. He added that we should all help the victims of the natural disaster.
Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that he agreed with Mr Hussain’s views and added that the protesting parties should pay attention to his suggestion. He praised Mr Hussain’s efforts for the resolution of the political crisis.
“The way you felt the gravity of the situation caused by the devastation of the natural disasters and guided the nation to tackle the situation is commendable. Other leaders should also follow you.” Mr. Tahir Ashrafi said.
Mr. Tahir Ashrafi welcomed the decision of the MQM to put off the decision regarding resignations of MQM members from the parliament. He added that MQM is the only voice of the deprived and oppressed people in the parliament and it should play its role in the parliament in the current situation
