The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has put off the MQM decision of resignation of all MQM members from the parliament on the request of JUI head Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman telephoned Mr Hussain and exchanged views on the ongoing political crisis and the overall situation prevailing in the country. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the MQM is a big political party and it has an important role in the political affairs of the country and hence the MQM should review its decision to resign from parliament. He also asked Mr Hussain to direct the MQM members to attend the session of the parliament taking place at a highly critical juncture of the political history of the country and express their views.
Mr Hussain accepted the request by Maulana Fazlur Rehman and put off the decision to resignation of MQM members from the parliament. He also gave assurance that the MQM members would attend the joint session of the parliament.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman concurred with Mr Hussain that the sits-ins being held by two political parties should be postponed in view of the heavy rains and consequent flooding. Both the leaders expressed grief and sorrow on the loss causes by rains and flooding and said that all political parties should make united efforts for helping the people affected by the natural disasters and the IDPs.
