[] I don't know whether it makes an entertaining read (there is a lot of cruelty in it, to be honest), but it is definitively worthy to study. Christianity has had an unparalleled influence on western culture; reading the bible would certainly deepen your understanding in western history of ideas, culture and thought.
[] I was joking around, but I absolutely love older british comedies. Stuff like Fawlty Towers, Are You Being Served?, Allo Allo, Black Adder, etc. There's some current british sketches and stuff I've found online, and I was on the floor laughing at Would I Lie To You and David Mitchell clips.
Unfortunately, it was hard to really get into Would I Lie To You because I didn't know the celebrities who guest starred or the celebrities they made fun of. Same with Top Gear interviews. I didn't get the references. I was joking with my comment, but I'm also not joking. To really understand, I would need to immerse myself into current British pop culture and celebrities. Something I rarely do with North American pop culture/celebrities as is.
