Microsoft bids farewell to one of its most popular instant messaging software products, the MSN Messenger, also known as Windows Live Messenger, on October 31st 2014. The announcement was made through an email sent to all the MSN subscribers worldwide. This was alongside a recommendation that its users switch to Skype. Microsoft is currently offering a free $2 credit to people who will make the switch.
