What is the bully epidemic? You can’t seem to go a day without seeing bullying in the news, online, someone talking about it on the radio.

Sadly, 160,000 kids will miss school tomorrow because of being bullied. 3.2 million kids report being bullied, either online or at school, two to three times every single month. And yet, only 40% of kids will ever tell an adult about it.

How do you know if your kid’s being bullied? What are the symptoms? Well, I talked about 160,000 kids will miss school tomorrow, so is your child withdrawing? Are they withdrawing from things that they normally love to do? Maybe that’s a symptom.

One of the symptoms that a lot of people don’t pick up on is the child who explodes at home. Their emotions are a roller coaster, see, because at school when they’re being bullied they can’t show their emotions because if they show anything, then the bully knows that they’re winning. The bully knows that they’re getting through to them, and so they’ll keep everything inside. They’ll keep everything to themselves. And when they get home, maybe their mom or their dad says, here, pick up your shoes. And the kid completely explodes because they can finally let go of all of that emotion that they’ve been going on. And a lot of times, parents will look at it as, you know, it’s a phase my kid is going through, or it’s growing pains, or this, that, and the other. And it simply could be a sign of bullying.

When you look at the bully epidemic and you see everything that is going on, and you look at the numbers, and you see how this is affecting your child, you know it’s time to bully proof your child.
