Authorities in Idaho are searching for an escaped prisoner. According to police, the inmate identified as Nicholas Grove managed to sneak out of Payette County Jail at a little after 8:30 in the morning on Tuesday.

Grove reportedly scaled a fence in the recreation yard and ran off the property. Lt. Andy Creech from the Sheriff's Office further elaborated “Within seconds, he was able to scale over and through that razor wire, and to the other side before the detention deputy was able to get to him.”

Several law enforcement agencies joined in the manhunt that followed but thus far, he has not been caught. Grove was later spotted near a local overpass, however he managed to get away before cops arrived.

The last time he was seen, Grove was wearing black shorts or sweatpants and a white T-shirt. He had no shoes on. He stands 5-feet-11 inches tall, weighs roughly 150 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair.

Grove was arrested earlier this summer for ‘unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, possession of burglary tools and an invalid license.’

Anyone who sees him is asked to contact police immediately. The sheriff's office is going to be reviewing the jail’s procedures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
